I love living in the Alberta countryside. The amazing Alberta Skies brighten every day
Sunrise
Every morning I am greeted with a beautiful sky, lit up by the sunrise.
I am awakened each morning as the sun comes thru my bedroom windows, turning the walls beautiful oranges and reds. Then I check the weather app to know how to dress and head out to feed the animals.
Once I get outside, the sunrise is in full glory as I start morning chores. The Amazing Alberta Skies greet me and get the day off to a wonderful start. If I am not already in a good mood, the adorable antics of the animals will put a smile on my face.
This is Oreo, my Favourite Doeling. She is extremely friendly. Her mom rejected her as a Kid, so we had to bottle feed her. She is the first goat to greet me every morning, looking for a treat or just a scratch. Now we just have to make sure she doesn’t become a pest as she gets bigger.
Blue Sky
As the day progresses, we are usually presented with a huge blue sky with just a few clouds. I am loving this, but some snow is much needed to provide moisture for next year. Hopefully the snow will come soon, but for now, we will enjoy the sunshine.
Our Herdsires enjoying some sun
Our two Bucks, EZK Pay to Play and LWC Jekyll are getting along really well. We just introduced them to each other when we put them into their winter pen after they finished breeding the does. We should have 4 pregnant does, which will result in around 12 kids in the spring.
Sunset
Sunset comes early this time of year (December). It is going down at around 4:30 PM, but that is not the end of our sky watching for the day.
We are an hour away from the city, so our night sky is filled with stars. Then, if all the signs align and there are no clouds, we are greeted with the most amazing sky.
Aurora Borealis
A couple of times per week, if we look at the sky at the right time, we are get to see the gorgeous Northern Lights.
These Aurora photos were all taken from my front porch! I live in one of the most wonderful places on earth. I will never tire of the Amazing Alberta Skies.
