Dogs and Mud Season

I feel like I have done nothing today, except clean up after muddy dogs.

I didn’t get a great sleep last night. While I was working in the Chicken coop, doing insulation and vapour barrier, they got into something. I assume it was something rotten, from the compost pile. Pete put himself to bed at 8 last night, and then started puking at 10 PM. At least he was considerate and did most of his puking in my shower, so it was easy to clean up…

Blu made me let him outside 3 times last night. The reason became more clear when he come back from a quick trip outside and jumped on my bed. Initially I was excited, because he is just learning to jump. His short legs make it difficult unless he has a good running start.

It quickly went bad from there. He had something stuck halfway out of his butt, and spread $h#t everywhere. I think it was a baby wipe!

So, up early to strip the bed and start laundry…

We are up, lets start the day

The dogs promised me, after their next morning pee, that they did not go into the mud… They Lied! Mud balls all over the floor. Our mud is mostly clay, so it forms balls and gets everywhere. It was OK if they stayed on the snow, but the snow is almost all gone now, leaving sucking clay mud everywhere. See https://titanranch.ca/?page_id=165

I got that cleaned up finally, and they wanted to go out again… I was smarter this time, and used the mud buster to clean all their paws before they came in. But Pete didn’t like me trying to get the dried pottery out from between is paw pads, and dumped the water all over the floor. More laundry..

The steam mop is a Must Have tool here

The steam mop wasn’t working well yesterday. With some google research, I found out that the steam mop doesn’t like our well water. I already had it loaded with vinegar to clean it out. They suggest only using distilled water in the steam mop – I would go thru gallons of distilled water! After running the vinegar thru it, it is back working 100% today.

Last night I was afraid it was dead – we use it a lot, and I don’t know what I would do without it! I have gone thru 4 pads on the mop so far today (it came with 2 washable pads, but we had to order extras),

Good thing the dogs are adorable…

You can’t help but love them! Even with muddy paws.
