Welcome to 2023

May is so silly!

I haven’t posted anything for a while… We had a wonderful holiday season and welcome to 2023. The animals have been healthy and happy.

2022 was a good year on the farm, except when it comes to injuries. Everyone is on the mend now, and 2023 looks promising.

We have listed Titan Ranch on the Wwoof Canada site and hope to welcome some wwoofers to the farm in the summer. They will learn about running a small farm, and help us with some projects.

Big Beautiful Kiko Does

We have 4 does who should be pregnant by EZK Pay to Play. Juniper and Jolene should give us some New Zealand Babies, while Lily and Luna will give us purebreds. They are due in the beginning of April and I can’t wait. There is nothing better than Baby Goats. Lily and Luna have both grown bigger than their mothers, so I can’t wait to see what their babies are like.

If you want to look back to see when Lily and Luna were babies – check out The Goats are Home or Photogenic Goats.

Horse Update

The horses are not getting ridden as much, with my injured shoulder. But, over the holidays they were ridden every day.

Returning from a ride on the road.

We had some friends over for a red neck New Years eve. They brought Snow bikes and a snow quad to play around the farm. We had a huge bonfire to end the day.

New Year In the Coop

The Chickens are all doing well. They are enjoying the milder weather after the cold snap in early December. We are currently getting about 8 eggs per day, with some lovely green and blue mixed in with the various browns.

We now have 4 roosters, which is too many for the 20 or so Hens we have. However, they are not causing any problems at this point. We will wait until spring to decide which ones will sire next years chicks.

Welcome Niko

The only other news is that we got a kitten. Niko is about 9 months old and very friendly. We were a bit concerned about how the dogs would react to the cat… When the cat sees a dog, it hisses. Sheba is smart enough to keep her distance, but Pete can’t seem to keep his face away from the killer mittens.
